Before Ishaan school closed for this academic year, he was given a box full of clay. It contained 12 colors. Surprisingly it was smelling good 🙂 Ishaan loved it! Clay play is just awesome for any age. It can involve the whole family. Ishaan gave all of us one color each and ask us to create something out of it. We all loved it too :*
This is the result of it 😉
One was done by his father, grandfather and me ❤
Last month, in Ishaan school there was literary activities like singing, fancy dress and story telling competitions. It is a good exposure for all kids to participate. They can overcome their stage appearance and speak badly in front of so many friends. It was an overall awesome experience for both of us 🙂 We enjoyed it. Fancy Dress was more fun! Continue reading
Hello all, recently I went out of stock of white sheets which we give for drawing or writing to Ishaan. We could not get it for nearly one week. But then Ishaan was so frustrated for sheets he took an invitation and painted on them with poster colours. The outcome was awesome. So I had a thought, why a plain sheet always? Invitation was made of handmade sheet 🙂 Doing art in new mediums with kids is fun!
Last Dussera holiday, I bought Ishaan a colouring book. Varieties of colouring books are available in the market. It helped me teach him birds, animals, flowers and many more. Each books contained a category of these pictures and it was a copy and colour book. Colouring books are great for holiday exercise.
In October there was Ganesha festival – a grand celebration for most of the Indians. We buy an idol of Ganesha, perform pooja and do visarjan (Dip him in water to send him back to his world). I decided to have a workshop on “DIY Ganesha” with clay this season. (Do It Yourself Ganesha) Clay workshop was awesome with kids. Continue reading
Teaching colours is fun. Online we can find lot of ways to introduce colours. The easiest way I feel is to gather any one colour objects a day. Let’s think about “Red”. So I show multiple objects in red colour to the kid the same day. For example: Red cap, Red toy, Red napkin, Red ball, Red cricket bat, and many more. This way in a weeks time we can cover many colours. Basic colours like Red, Blue, Yellow, Pink, Purple, Black, White, Green, Orange, Brown can all be covered.
Next step will be more often asking the kid what colour is your T-shirt? what is your shoe colour? What is your spoon colour? Later we can ask them to use colours to colour the pictures. This method can be used in schools or home. As parents we can even teach them while we are interaction our kids. This way it is easy and faster for the kid to grasps lot of things we teach.
Keep teaching while learning 🙂
My son’s new love is “Masha and the Bear” animated serial episodes. It is an awesome character which makes anyone 🙂 We both don’t mind watching them more no of times a day. We even watch it in the language which we don’t understand. An episode “Jam Day” made us prepare a jam at home. It is Delicious! We enjoyed preparing it together. No matter what it is loved and tasty 😛 Continue reading
